The begining of my PhD project

I started my current research project in January 2008 in the Island of Moorea, French Polynesia.

This project follows my former Master project conducted in 2007 on the genetic structure of a sicklefin lemon shark (Negaprion acutidens) population in Moorea Island.

This project has the aim to go further in the understanding of the organisation, behaviour and ecology of insular shark populations in the Remote Polynesian Islands in the centre of the Pacific Ocean.

I hope to better investigate and understand shark population’s vulnerability in this part of the world in order to provide information that could be used for better management plan of sharks.
